Send Money to Mexico Quickly

There are various ways to transfer money to Mexico, each with its own set of guidelines that govern how the money is sent. Safety and security, as well as service cost and time frame can vary from company to company.

At certain instances, time though becomes the utmost important issue. When an emergency situation arises, knowing what options are available to you is very important.

In a time sensitive situation, it is important not to loose focus and/or panic. There are a variety of options available to you that will facilitate your needs quickly and easily.

If you are in an opposite situation, where time is not an issue, preparing before the need arises, is always a good idea. For instance, if you have a son or daughter that will be spending summer vacation in Mexico, it would be a good idea to have framework in place so that a money transfer can be made with very short notice, if at all necessary.

In a case like this, the ATM/debit card might be the best option. For some, you may trust the recipient enough to give them an ATM/debit card linked directly to the sender’s bank account.

Once the recipient receives both the card and the associated PIN number, they can then go to a large variety of ATM location nationwide. Remember though, that if you choose to go with this option, it grants the receiver and unbridled access to all your funds, regardless of your given preauthorization.

The reality is that in many cases, we in fact, do not want the card recipient to have total and unmonitored access to the money in our account(s). Because of this fact, prepaid debit cards are the perfect solution.

A prepaid debit card holds all of the same characteristics as a traditional ATM card, however, it has more restricted access when it comes to funding. Once all of the money has withdrawn, the cardholder can no longer access to any more money until the card is reloaded with more money.

With either option that you choose, opening an account with a bank that has branches both in Mexico and in the United States will help to make a transfer between accounts easy. Taking this precaution, along with everything else previously mentioned, will ensure a safe and timely transaction.

Fun With iPhone Ringtones

Say goodbye to having to pay iTunes 99 cents to get ringtones for your iPhone. This is a thing of the past. Today, you can use Apples GarageBand, to create your own iPhone ringtones. You can also use programs designed for creating ringtones from your favorite media files.

Lets get into what, exactly, can be used as a ringtone. Music files, of course, are mostly used by people for ringtones, especially if you are a professional person who uses their phone for work and play. You can make your own sound bites, such as the birds chirping outside of your window, your child saying, Daddy, your phone is ringing, or something like a sound bite from your early days in the high school band. You can also use the sound from movie files. The choices are limitless.

iPhones are one of the hottest new gadgets around. One of the great features of these phones is that you can set ringtones to each of your contacts. This means that when George calls, George has his own ringtone. Most people like to have a different ringtone for each caller. You can get really creative with this. You can have a ringtone that reminds you of each person.

If your father is a big country music fan, you can have one of his favorite songs as a ringtone for when he calls you. You might have a brother-in-law who is a big football fan, so you can set up the NFL tune for him. You can, for example, have the Married with Children theme song play for your sister and her family if they remind you of them. Get creative with them and have some fun.

There are two ways to create ringtones for your iPhone. I call this the hard way. With it you can use Apples GarageBand to make your own ringtone.

1) On your Mac, run iTunes and then GarageBand.

2) Click on the song in iTunes you want to make a ringtone of.

3) In your GarageBand window, select “New Music Project.”

4) GarageBand displays a timeline with a single track. Delete the track (click on it and choose Delete Track from the Track menu).

5) Click the music file you want within iTunes and drag it into GarageBand. You’ll see it’s quickly imported.

6) Scroll thru the song in GarageBand. Then select the 30 second segment you want to be your new iPhone ringtone.

7) You’ll need to delete the music ahead of the start of your ringtone. To do this, click on the track to select it, then choose Split from the Edit menu to split the track at the playhead. Click the blank GarageBand work area to deselect the track and click on the portion you want to delete and press the Delete key on your keyboard. Do the same for the end of your ringtone.

9) With your mouse, yank the remaining clip to the left starting place of the track.

10) Next, we’re going to create an end point on our file. Drag the volume a half-second before the end all the way down.

11) Do the same thing for the end part of the ringtone.

12) Time to preview. Play it. Does it sound good? If so, save it.

13) To make sure that the song repeats as your phone rings, click on the button to turn the cycle region on and off (at the bottom of the GarageBand window). It is the button on the far right that looks like a set of arrows.

14) Once the button is pressed, a yellow line will show above the track. With your mouse, pull the right side of the line so that it goes all through your ringtone. Press Save.

15) In the share menu choose “Send Ringtone to iTunes.” Your project is converted to an iPhone ringtone that opens and plays in iTunes.

16) Sync your iPhone and your ringtone will be copied for you.

This does seem like a complicated process. If you’d prefer something a little simpler, consider PocketMac RingtoneStudio for iPhone. It does all of this with a simple drag and drop.

Collection Agency Head Indicted for Alleged Theft of $2.7 Million From City of Boston

A Grand Jury in Suffolk County, Mass. yesterday returned indictments against the president of a collection agency for purportedly stealing millions of dollars worth of excise taxes from the City of Boston.

Stephen Colahan, of Beverly, Mass. is charged with Larceny over $250 by Continuous Scheme and Procurement Fraud. Prosecutors allege that Colahan, over the course of five years, transferred more than $2.7 million from a City of Boston bank account to his own companys account.

According to a press release from the Massachusetts Attorney General, from 1995 until June 2007 Colahans company, Walker Associates, Inc., was under contract with the City of Boston to collect delinquent motor vehicle excise taxes from Boston residents. Under the terms of the contract, Walker was required to pay over to the city 100 percent of the taxes and statutory fees collected; the city would then pay Walker Associates a percentage of the fees the company had collected. Each week, Walker Associates was required to pay over to the city the amount of the previous weeks cash payments and cleared checks, and to provide a paper and electronic report detailing the amounts collected from each taxpayer and the date of collection.

Beginning in June 2001, Colahan allegedly began taking money out of the bank account into which his company deposited all of the citys tax and fee collections, and using that money to cover Walkers business expenses. Authorities allege that for the next five years, Colahan frequently stole from the citys account. From June 2001 through August 2006, authorities allege that Colahan shifted over $2.7 million to his own company account.

In October 2007, the states attorney generals office began an inquiry after the matter had been referred by the Boston Police Department and the City of Boston.

A Suffolk Grand Jury returned indictments against Colahan Tuesday. He is scheduled for arraignment on May 12, 2009, in Suffolk Superior Court.

Diversify Your Gold Portfolio

You should diversify your portfolio with gold and you should also diversify your gold portfolio. There are many different types of gold you can invest in and diversify your gold portfolio, including gold bullion, domestic and foreign, modern gold coins, domestic or foreign and antique gold coins, domestic and foreign.

There are also many options within each gold category that will allow you to receive and store your gold or by allowing the dealer or broker to hold your gold for you. Most investors buying gold are not only buying to diversify their portfolio but they are preparing for financial disaster. In those cases, gold coins and antique gold coins have the reputation that the government can’t confiscate them because of their antique and collector value.

On the other hand, gold bullion in recent history has been confiscated by the US government and there are several organizations that are trying to push legislation through that will fix that situation by not allowing the government to be able to confiscate personally owned gold bullion or coins of any kind.

Can the government confiscate foreign gold bullion or coins from US investors? When gold was confiscated by President Roosevelt in 1933 gold that was minted by foreign countries “earmarked or held in trust for a recognized foreign government or foreign central bank”

This means that if we go by historical accounts, foreign gold bullion and coins would be exempt from US gold confiscation. That happened before, but the government makes laws to fit the situation. What happened before may not happen again.

Antique gold coins are pushed by many dealers and telemarketers because of the higher markup and profit margin on old gold coins. Many dealers prey on investor’s fears about the gold confiscation that Roosevelt ordered in 1933. President Ford issued his own executive order repealing the executive order that Roosevelt used to confiscate gold in 1933.

Then Congress in 1977 removed the president’s authority to regulate gold transactions during a national emergency other than war. What’s that mean? Absolutely nothing. People, especially salespeople that use historic events to sell their most profitable inventory are being disingenuous by preying on investors fears of what happened in the past. Which has nothing to do with what can happen in the future.

Just because President Roosevelt exempted antique gold coins and foreign bullion doesn’t mean a current administration would go by those same guidelines. The truth is, no one knows what will happen in the future, especially in the event of a financial collapse.
