Because of the power of the Internet, article marketing has now become a very powerful way to advertise your business. It does not matter whether you are working as a network marketer, an affiliate or just as a blogger after extra clicks to your site, article marketing can certainly bring in that traffic if you do it right.
Take a look at what other business owners and writers are doing. Find topics that have been written about too much, and ideas that haven’t been written about enough. Expand on their ideas.
Do your homework on the rules of the article directory. Each directory website will have its own set of standards and guidelines which you must adhere to.
Make your articles helpful and valuable. Your legitimate desire to help your customers is more important than the quality of your text. Content that is self-serving instead of helpful, will raise a red flag in your reader’s mind.
Your headlines for all your written content should grab the reader’s attention. There are many readers who glance at the headlines, waiting to see one that catches their eye. By using a question in the title, you are more likely to compel people to read the rest of your article. Show them how your product can satisfy their needs, and seek to strike a chord with readers’ emotions.
Use the rule of 3 for your articles. Three parts make articles interesting and memorable for your readers. The introduction tells them what to expect. The body of the article delivers on the promise you made in the title of the article. The conclusion reminds readers of the important points and leads them towards action.
Don’t use long, rambling sentences and dense paragraphs in your articles. Readers are turned off when they are confronted by long blocks of text. Break your article up into short, punchy paragraphs of no more than five lines. Keep your sentences short and straightforward so your articles are easy to follow.
Do not use the words ‘in conclusion’ at the end. These words indicate to readers that there is no additional information left in your article, so they may as well stop reading. You should write a summary just like you normally would in a conclusion, but do not use those words. Make it so they are more likely to read on, and then they can enjoy your author resource box and learn more about you.
Use your own voice when writing your content. If you are unable to write without using a dictionary or thesaurus for a majority of the article, you probably should not submit it. Your readers will realize that you didn’t write this from your own voice, and they might stop reading your content.
