Cooking is possible the profession that is most suited to earning real cash in WoW. Every single class is a potential customer of high end foods and selling these can make you good money easily and quickly.
It’s easy to jump to the conclusion that the cooking profession is a boring one. If you’re after gold however, you may find it interesting to know that by selling high end “buffing” foods, you can make a significant amount of gold.
The cooking profession is only lucrative when used to make high end items. Don’t waste your time on the low end jobs as these just aren’t worth it. After patch 2.3 was released, cooking quests became an option. These can be done daily to make around 7 gold a time. You’ll also occasionally pick up new recipes through completing these quests.
As I previously mentioned, the way to make money through cooking is to focus on making the “buffing foods”. It’s a fact that Mages can create foods and drinks through spells. They are no real competition to you however as very few of their spells give bonuses to stats for a period of time. You can do this however.
Once you’re able to cook these types of valuable recipes, you can use them to give bonuses to Healing, Damage, Spirit, Stamina and Spell to mention a few. Don’t forget that you can also feed your pets these foods to give them a bonus (if you are a hunter).
If you want to take your Cooking profession to an even more lucrative level, think about combining it with the Fishing profession. These two professions go hand in hand and will give you even more options when it comes to making money.
Because Cooking is a secondary skill you won’t need to worry about it interfering with your trade skills. There’s no real negative to choosing Cooking as one of your secondary skills.
If you are dedicated and use you’re imagination, you’ll find there’s no limit to the number of ways you can make gold in World of Warcraft.
