Dan Senor, co-author of ‘Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle,’ discusses with CNBC how Israel has managed to become a leader in business innovation. www.startupnationbook.com Israel economy, Israeli economy, israel finances, israeli entrepreneurs, israel startups, israel hi tech business, intel israel, israel money, israel recession
It needs to be noted that Israel has a much loved socialized health and job security system
look at how many comments of jealous people are here !
You got that right..
No military budget??? are you crazy, must of there taxes goes to the military..
How can you say that Israel’s succes has nothing to do with America aiding the military financially, when the bloke in the video so strongly stresses how important the military discipline, that all Israelis learn, is?
@newtype64
It can not.
All the start ups are privately funded most of them getting investments from American and foreign venture capitalists . do some research and you will see astounding numbers being invested into Israeli company’s from foreign investors.
That maybe true, but all that money they save by not having a military budget can be used to help do start ups and innovation.
@newtype64
All current Us aid is given strictly for the defense budget, and has no relation to start ups or innovation in Israel.
All the aid from America probably has alot to do with Israels booming business.

the US is israels big brother,and will always be,the jews roots in the US are very very deep,and beggin from the beggining of hollywood to the beggining of new york and they were the major player in building the US economy…
@345bambi are u saying than, that if the u.s. government suddenly decided to use national genocide on the religion you believe in… would you HELP that country….?
We are smart…I just wish we could use our brains to make peace with our neighbors, clean up our traffic and environment, and learn how to stand in line. Also, enough with tasting all the food in the store before you purchase it! Ha!
That was in response to 345 bambi……..
This has got to be the dumbest statement. I have ever read on the internet. I bet you have NEVER served in the US armed forces. Well I have and am a proud Jew. What does saying Israel is leading in startups and being loyal to America have to do with one another? You should worry more about people in America pledging Jihad and blowing up planes and buildings. Oh maybe you are a Muslim………..Also learn to spell and speak English. Multiple mistakes in your posting.
yea man! Israeli Military here… Love this video gotta buy the book!
and they would be blessedly happy without
i am a british jew. i am a loyal british citizen. but if UK law said it was illegal to be jewish, i would emigrate. i am jewish first but that doesnt mean i am not loyal to my host country
anyone who becomes an american citisen should remember hisIher loyalty is to USA and not to, say Israel, If a person of Jewish origen is not prepared to do this he/her should not seek citsenship
The govt. encouraged immigration into Israel also exists here in the USA. I’m not referring to the illegal immigration of unskilled workers, but to our LEGAL policy where the immigration of scientists, engineers, medical professionals and other people that will be beneficial the USA.
In fact our LEGAL immigration policy does give priority to these types of people. How do we attract these people? How about stable
government, LOW TAX rates, and earnings opportunity (this has an inverse relationship to tax rates).
So our present govt. should learn from our great immigrant past, and QUIT trying to impose more and more taxes (example: the failures of Calif, NY, anti-commerce legal mafia unions, TAXED national heatlh care system, etc).
The difference between us (Israel) and America, is that Israel has a very small population of people so we need every person to serve the army …
America dont need it, America is a large country, there are enough people who agree to serve on the military…
Israel’s development comes from capitalism and innovation.
The Arab world wouldn’t have any oil if it wasn’t for western technology to pull it out of the soil.
Infrastructure? Ok, if you need an operation, would you chose Israel or Mauritania? They’ve had enough time to build hospitals, right?
Perspective is bliss.
@mizzoulibertarian you’re wrong. he didn’t mention anything about Americans having conscription. It’s all about being able to transfer war-time skills into a usable resume. This is so that former soldiers can use their skills to find jobs.
Dude, you need to go look at a map. The two countries are thousands of miles apart,.
Mauritania has also only found that oil relatively recently so the country still needs to build infrastructure.
With that being said, Israel’s economy is a paradigm that developing countries should follow. That’s what you get with good leadership.
He wants conscription here in America! Thats unacceptable! All of the American establishment, the corporate media, the democrats and republicans,want conscription. Involuntary servitude violates the constitution. If we don’t have enough troops (which we don’t) then maybe we should stop fighting dumb wars.
