We are bickering about the wrong things! Tax dollars and tax incentives should be put into helping boost manufacturing and producing in the US, not the service industry and government! We are quickly losing our Superpower status. China and Russia are breathing down our necks while we are squabbling about being taken care of by the government! What self-serving people we are. Cornyn’s “criticism agst Sotomayor?” You mean, he stated the facts about Sotomayor judicial history, correct? You stated, “Over 50% of the people in the state are now Latinio,” as am I, but what point are you trying to make on behalf of these 50% of the populace? You do not speak for me. That is a very racist and shallow view. Not all hispanics are democrat, just as not all people shown in the census are even american citizens with the ability to vote. This is not New York state where a single city decides the vote of the state, and I don’t think a few blue cities and recent immigrants (legal and il) could sway the current leaning of this state.

Actually Texas is turning bluer faster than any other state.
Over 50% of the people in the state are now Latinio & the GOP is not getting even 15% of that vote & what insured Cornyn’s defeat next time was his criticism agst Sotomayor. In fact, I think he’ll see the handwriting on the wall & not even run next time.
Sen. Cornyn is a good man. I constantly write him emails and get typed letters in returned with his signature. His office will even get other congrennmen and congresswomen to reply on subjects that they are a part of.

Government spending has been out of control for years and now you are going to tell me that is going to stop us from implementing a decent healthcare plan? Why didn’t anyone ever examine what the war would do to our budget and examine it at this level? Because they will spend on what they want. Where in the Constitution does it allow the federal government to get involved to begin with, with an individuals medical care…where? There’s about 34 enumerated powers granted to the federal government. What happened to “states rights” (9th & 10th Amendments) and individual responsibility. And, don’t try to tell me the illegal aliens won’t eventually be covered by such illegal inactments? They WILL…you know it and I know it. Maybe Texas should just secede. Texas does love Senator Cornyn! I am in his district and think he is awesome. However, I am disappointed that he didn’t mention abortion or illegals. I do know that he is against both. This bill stinks.
Hold tight to the reigns and realize that Congress should but Healthcare issues and Cap/Trade aside until our deficit issues have been resolved, investigate the corruption in Congress (I know that it is not always easy to clean our own house), but someone has to start too many have been left alone and investigations of their corruption has gone on to long. We have to focus not only the deficit, but preventing further bailouts and providing our Generals with the troops they need to win a war.
